This Holiday Weekend In Athens

Remember the good old days? I don't, but if you wanna experience them and you're looking for something to do around Athens over the holidays, you've got plenty of opportunities...

WED: The Normaltown Flyers, perhaps the longest-running Athens band, play their "Annual Night Before Thanksgiving Show" at the Georgia Theatre. Since Allen's closed, they don't seem to play out as much. But if you like country-rock-ish stuff, check it out.

THURS: Happy Thanksgiving! Eat lots!

FRI: The Randall Bramblett Band plays the Georgia Theatre. Bramblett also goes way back in Athens' musical history. Again, kinda country/roots-ish songs. The show was originally listed as being with Barbara Cue, but the Theatre doesn't list it as such anymore.

SAT: If you're in Athens, you can catch Drivin' N' Cryin' at the Georgia Theatre. If you're in Atlanta, you can catch the Drive-By Truckers at The Tabernacle. If you don't know what those two bands sound like by now, then I can't help you.

P.S. Go Dawgs!!!

Since we won't be around much to monitor/update the goings-ons, if you know of any changes or cool additions to the above events list, please comment away. Hope y'all all have a great holiday weekend. Rock on.
