This Holiday In Athens (& A Bit Beyond)

Merry Christmas Eve, y'all. As you might suspect, there's not a lot going on around here for the next coupla' weeks, but here's a scattering of what's around...


SAT (Dec. 25th - Merry Christmas!): In Athens, apparently the Go Bar will open late for a dance party, but if you're around Atlanta, Patterson Hood will be playing The Earl that night.


TUES (Dec. 28th): For you classical/world music-ish fans, or simply fans of reunion shows, Viktor & Andrej will play the 40 Watt. One of those two (I think Andrej?) moved, but now they're reunited for the holidays. Tonight's show starts at 9 PM. See this Flagpole article for more info.


WED (Dec. 29th): Madeline returns to Athens for the holidays as well. Bringing Zumm Zumm out as well to play a special holiday show at the 40 Watt. Word has it there'll be a performance at Tight Pockets too, but I dunno when that'll be (if you know, please post in the comments below). See this Flagpole interview for more info.

Also another chance to see Viktor & Andrej, this time at the Healing Arts Centre (again at 9 PM).


THURS (Dec. 30th): Garbage Island, Mother Jackson, and others play the 40 Watt for Craig Lieske's Birthday Bash. Sure to be loud.


FRI (Dec. 31st): As if you needed to read it here, the legendary Pylon will be joined by Elf Power to rock in the New Year. Stay afterwards for the Athenian tradition of shaking your drunk ass to the Krush Girls. I know everyone says it, but this will sell out beforehand, so get tickets early at Lo Yo Yo, School Kids (I think), or online at Pitch-A-Tent.

SAT (Jan. 1st - Happy New Year's!): GO DAWGS!!!
