This Weekend In Athens (Twilight Edition!)

Twilight's here and that is awesome...

FRI: The Twilight outdoor stage features The Weight (back from NY for the weekend) and Cracker. The times seem to conflict depending on where you look, but The Weight will either start at 7 or 7:30 and Cracker will either start at 8 or 8:30, but I'm sure it's all "rock time" anyway. All free and outdoor beer gardens will abound. More on Cracker here.

Afterwards, Frilight takes over the party down at Little King's. Lil' Flip Scoldjah leads the all-star line-up. Definitely the prime place to continue the festivities. Lil' Flip owns, y'all.

Other good options might be the Ginger Envelope / Shiitake Knights show at the Caledonia or Drivin' N' Cryin' at the Georgia Theatre. And as always there's Redneck GReece at Jot 'Em Down at 6PM - food's cash only.

SAT:First off, there's the bike races. The full schedule is here. I can't say enough about how much fun it is to wander around downtown in the mayhem. Hopefully the weather will cooperate.

Then, the 6th annual Twilight Delirium brings Je Suis France back to the 40 Watt stage this year. Besides the France, you've got Iron Hero, Rump Posse, and the GBV cover band "King Shit & The Golden Boys". The event is always fun, and totally worth your time/money. Better if you drink, but then again, so are most things. More on Rump Posse here.

But if that's not your speed, there's also Audition with Max Reinhardt at Go Bar and Astra at the Caledonia.
