I find
this story about a military reporting mistake over the weekend a little intriguing.
Finding

Finally,
this story was reported on the evening news last night. It seems some Evangelical Christians are trying to create a community of their own in Upstate South Carolina. They see this area as their promised land. (Note: I have lived near this area and I can tell you that it is NOT the promised land.) Their hope is to make a huge impact politically in one area by slowly refororming local and state laws. Eventually, they would like to (hopefully) create their own state.
After searching for more information, I found basic "calls to arms" for the group on various websites, including
this one whereby part of the mission statement reads: "It is evident that the U.S. Constitution has been abandoned under our current federal system, and the efforts of Christian activism to restore our Godly republic have proven futile over the past three decades."
So, it
seems this would be very much like the Amish community in Southern Ohio/Western Pennsylvania. Yet, it scares me so much more. What do you think?
