This Weekend In Athens
FRI: Of Montreal makes their way back into town from their extensive and
quite successful U.S. tour to play the
Watt. I don't know if it's sold out yet but if it isn't, it will, so get your tickets soon.
Michael Lachowski (
Pylon) will be DJing afterwards with his new photography subject,
Atom. Also, there's
Producto at the
Caledonia.
Don't forget about the
Robert Osborne Classic Film Festival. Today's films are:
Ed Wood (1:30 PM),
The Third Man (4:30 PM), and
Breakfast At Tiffany's (8:30). The latter will feature a discussion with actors Patricia Neal and Mickey Rooney, so that's pretty cool.
SAT: Still Small Voice & The Joyful Noise perform at the
Caledonia tonight along with
Folklore. That's a pretty solid lineup and even though both are relatively young bands in this town, definitely the bill of the night. More
here. There's also
Sleepy Horses at
Flicker and if you're in the mood to pick up drunk college kids, then you can't beat the
Krush Girls at the
40 Watt.
At the
ROCFF:
Raiders Of The Lost Ark (1:30 PM),
On The Waterfront (4:30 PM), and
Best In Show (8:30 PM) - featuring a post-film discussion with special guest Parker Posey. Seriously.
SUN: The
ROCFF winds down with a full afternoon's worth of
Gone With The Wind, starting at 1:30 PM. There's a brunch beforehand with Robert Osbourne. Who doesn't want that?
