This (Holiday) Weekend In Athens

Kinda quiet weekend (Remember bands: get gigs on the weekends before and after AthFest - that's when no one else is playing)...


FRI: The Low Lows (featuring former Parker & Lily folks) perform stuff from their upcoming album as well as Summer Hymns (still in trio form as far as I know) performing stuff from the past and from the album that someday might be - all at the 40 Watt. More here.


SAT: The Bearfoot Hookers spread debauchery at Tasty World once again. Tonight they play with Unknown Hinson, whose posters scare the living crap out of me. That noggin is gigantic. More here. (Disclaimer: I've never actually heard the guy play, but that picture was just too creepy not to post.)

Also, Hot Grits return to bring some folk-ish, pop-ish stuff to Flicker.


SUN: Sleepy Horses help ATHICA celebrate four years and Memorial Day. A cookout to ensue, I believe.


MON: Happy Memorial Day! Get it crunk!
