This Weekend In Athens
Not AthFest, but not empty...
Father Time Shreds!FRI: Holy crap,
Hayride comes out of hiding to finally play a show and even mentions recording. Why isn't this in Pitchfork? Anyway, they're bringing some hard-ass rock to the
Caledonia and it's gonna be loud as hell. New-ish project called
The Owen 4 opens. They've got good folks in that band, so expect good things. More
here.
Also, over at the Watt
Bo Bedingfield & The Wydelles will be performing with
Geoff Reacher. Who else might round out a show like that you ask? Why none other than comedy genius
Pete McBrayer. Funny and rocking. Can't beat that. More
here.
And just to prove we really are checking
our MySpace account, here's a little note from
Venice Is Sinking (who were kind enough to add us as friends before we even announced our page):
hello,
i just wanted to let you all know about a show we are putting together for tomorrow night (6/30) at stan mullins gallery...
the show will take place on pulaski street in the old warehouse / art studio / house / barn / building next door to the 666 house just before you get to the railroad tracks on pulaski.
the line up is going to be as follows:

but, not neccessarily in that order. the music will start at 8:30 and go until midnight or so. there should be a couple of old satellite dishes filled with ice and PBR, but please bring some liquor and/or beer if you feel so inclined.
thanks,
venice is sinking
Thank
you, VIS!
SAT: Not quite as much going on, it seems, but
Tin Cup Prophette and (former Audition With Max Reinhardt vocalist) Sanni's new band
Panda will be playing the
40 Watt. If you're like me and missed 'em at AthFest, now's a good time to catch up. More
here.
