Tonight In Athens
Woo... AthFest!... kinda.
Note: The above flyer is actually for tomorrow night's show, but other than that and the difference in time and missing an act, it's totally accurate for tonight. Basically, I'm too lazy for Photoshop right now.
Our friend Pete McBrayer sent the following heads up:
Pete McBrayer, Comedy Genius
Mother Jackson
Don Chambers
Flicker Theatre & Bar
Wednesday, June 21
8:30 PM
$3
It's a dress rehearsal for our late-night Thursday show. I'll be performing my full standup routine "100 Jokes", Mother Jackson will be playing in various combinations, and we'll have a "special guest" Don Chambers for a couple of songs.
Thanks for the heads up, Pete! For music fans, there's also
The Late B.P. Helium,
Madeline and a few others at the
Caledonia. And
Still, Small Voice & The Joyful Noise at
Tasty World. Oh, and
Mother's Finest at the
Melting Point for all those who want a piece of the rock. More
here.
For film fans,
AthFest officially kicks off tonight with the
Sprockets Film & Video Festival at the
40 Watt featuring lots of your favorite local acts' music videos. The winners will be played at the F'pole Music Awards tomorrow night. Also, before that there's a special screening of Tony Gayton's film
Two-Headed Cow, about Dexter Romwebber as well as a anniversary highlights segment and Q&A for
Athens, GA Inside/Out. As I write this, the new F'pole's not online, but there's a Romwebber story there somewhere. All of this starts around 8PM and is presented by
Film::Athens.
Damn that's a lot going on.
