If you have children, you may want to consider attending the magic show that will be held at Nuci's Space this Friday, December 1 at 7 p.m. It will take place before the Adam's House Cat (Patterson Hood, Mike Cooley and Brad Morgan) show. It will be a great activity for kids. The magician is the renowed eco-entertainer Steve Trash (also related to a friend of The Day Jobs) who has performed all over the world.

This benefit will help to provide health care to Sabina Hartley-Burke, a beautiful young girl who has a malignant tumor on her brain stem. Her family is friends with some folks in town, particularly the Drive-By Truckers camp, and we encourage you to read all about her here. There is a suggested donation of $5 and I have it on good word that kids of all ages will love Steve's magic tricks. (I will be there volunteering so please tell your kids to go easy on us.) Either way, the magic show is cheap, early and should be a great activity for the kids, so come on out and help little Sabina out at the same time! If you know other folks with children, please spread the word!
