This Weekend In Athens
Another link-free weekend cause the man keeps coming down on me...
FRI: Down With The Woo,
Ice Cream Socialists,
Pegasuses-XL and New Orleans'
One Man Machine all perform at the 40 Watt tonight. Down with the Woo's doing some sort of video/recording of the performance and Pegasuses is/are celebrating their third release, which is digital-only but I think it's free or something. Or you donate or whatever.
Also, for fans of great pop (and all ye E6ers),
The 63 Crayons and
The New Sound Of Numbers play a show together at the
Go Bar. A big group of talented folks there.
And I just wanted to list this show because I haven't been able to in forever:
The Normaltown Flyers are playing at (the new)
Allen's (location). Yes, Allens is slinging burgers once again and the Flyers have a their home back. It is Athens, after all.
Finally, earlier on,
Peter Erchick (also one of the aforementioned E6ers) and
Heather Heyn (of Dark Meat) perform at
Flicker around 8:30. Flagpole's not sure whether it's a joint show or if they're playing separately or what, and thus, I'm not sure either. However, should be a great show whichever way it goes.
SAT: Kind of a slow night around town. I know that
Clay Leverett's playing a solo show over at the
Melting Point. He's been playing more often lately... anyone caught a show to verify if there's new songs in there? He's a great songwriter, but prolific he's not. Hopefully some new stuff's kicking around.
Meanwhile,
DJ Other Voices, Other Rooms will be spinning at
Little Kings. He promises the likes of Steely Dan, Big Star, and Rod Stewart early on with lots of rap later in the night.
