Tonight In Athens

The opening festivities for tonight include a DJ set by DJ Other Voices, Other Rooms and a set of awesome TPHB covers by none other than Heavy Petty - who are kickass. That all starts about 8 PM at the Caledonia, HP on stage around 9 PM.

Or, right about the same time, Birds & Wire will be over at Flicker.

Later in the night, there's the killer triple lineup of Liz Durrett, Ham 1, and F'pole coverboy Vic Chesnutt at the 40 Watt. Or, at the Go Bar, the now-rarely-playing Summer Hymns will be playing.

(Also, I'm not sure what line up Vic's playing with, but let me just make this appeal: if Vic's playing a song solo, please shut up during that song. He's not loud by nature and it's hard to hear over you and your friend catching up - even if you're over by the merch booth. Thank you.)
