I just ran across this recent interview with local musician/songwriter/producer/engineer David Barbe, in which he discusses all kinds of things Athens music related. The site also contains interviews with some other Georgia musicians (Drive-By Truckers, Col. Bruce Hampton, etc.), including a fairly forthcoming two-part interview with Todd Nance of Widespread Panic. A former Athens resident authored both, so his insights tie in to a lot of Athens' music history.
