Athens Musicians Can't Stand Being In Tune

Okay, I can't help but post this. It's a quote from a recent interview with the Modern Skirts from a publication in Savannah. To try to avoid Hannity-ing this, I'm posting as much of the relevant info around the quote as possible, putting my emphasis in bold (and providing the full name for info's sake and editing the one curse word for your work-safe viewing):
When asked if, a few years into their upwards trajectory, the band is finally feeling a bit of backlash in their local music scene, [bassist JoJo] Glidewell chuckles.

“Actually, the backlash has kind of subsided. It happened pretty much immediately! In Athens, there’s a lot of hardcore indie music, and among those folks, it’s considered selling out to tune your guitar (laughs). For something as palatable as we are, some folks would actually come up and mock us openly in the street. You know, like, ‘Look at that famous guy,’” he says.

“On the flip side, we’ve had people say, ‘I used to think you guys were bulls***, until I saw you play, and it turns out you’re really good (laughs).’ In reality, 100 miles outside Athens, we still often play to nobody.”
No, this is not an April Fool's Joke. In case you want to read the whole article, it's here. But I've snipped all the relevant info pertaining to the quote above. So, y'all indie rockers out there get to tunin'!
