This Weekend In Athens

It's Twilight time...

FRI: The annual "Frilight Delirium", a spinoff of the famed Saturday night celebration, takes place at Little Kings and features the rarely-performing but totally awesome Bugs Eat Books as well as several acts you really only see at these sort of JSF-crew-centric shows including Crewsin' For A Brewsin, Nipples For Days, and Si, Claro. Get in on the party.

There's also a large lineup at the Caledonia featuring Cinemechanica and Mouser amongst others. And within earshot, at Farm 255, you can hear the HEAP and Still, Small Voice & The Joyful Noise.

And don't miss out on Patrick Carey, Don Chambers, & Mother Jackson at Flicker; The Brothers Gore at Rye Bar; Old Crow Medicine Show at Georgia Theatre; and/or DJ Mahogany, Garbage Island, and Martyr & Pistol at Go Bar ... you know there's kinda something for everyone around tonight.

SAT: Since it's Twilight, there's entertainment (and hopefully funnel cakes) to be sought in the afternoon. So, Ishues, Deaf Judges, Geoff Reacher, and others can be seen, for free, at Farm 255 around 2:30 PM (later, DJ Mahogany will spin, but that's not till 10:30).

The Twilight Delirium is at 40 Watt and it's the 10th anniversary of the existence of Je Suis France. A big happy birfday to the France! I went to school with some of those guys, so I'm officially old even by Athens scenester standards. That being said, they've never stopped rocking and every show brings a great surprise. Honestly, I don't see as much rap as I'd like on that bill, but who knows what waits in store. The Buddy System and others are there too. Jamm on, France. Jamm on.

Also, Old Crow Medicine Show continues a 2-night stand at the Georgia Theatre, The Dictatortots are at Tasty World, and for something completely off that path, Canopy Studios is performing their Spring show, "Water Body", as a finale this week.

SUN: Athens 441 tapes at the Melting Point with Don Chambers, Snake Oil Medicine Show, and The Wrights. Doors at 6 PM, taping starts promptly at 7 PM.
