This Weekend in Athens

All you 9-5ers say goodbye to the 4 day work week. It was nice while it lasted, right?

Friday:

If you have a chance at noon, you may be interested in catching a free Kenosha Kid show on East Campus to celebrate the opening of the new Lamar Dodd School of Art building. It's free.

A. Armada will celebrate the release of their new album, Anam Cara, this evening at the 40 Watt. Their last show at the 40 Watt was fantastic. Just sayin'. Iron Hero and The Buddy System are also on the bill. Quite the mix over at Flicker with Kenosha Kid and the Jumpin' Jesus Christers. Tthere's Casper and the Cookies and Ham1 at the Caledonia. And Nana Grizol is at the Go Bar, followed by DJ Baby Pandas.

Saturday:

Deaf Judges and Pegasuses-XL are at the Go Bar, and Kite to the Moon is at the Farm. Little Francis is at the Caledonia, Timber is at Flicker, and there's lots of DJ action at Little Kings. Some impressive players collaborating in a band called Moonalice are opening for the main show at the 40 Watt tonight.

Of course, as usual, don't forget about the Farmers' Market at Bishop Park from 8-12.

Sunday:

Closing out the weekend is Gay Africa (Jim McHugh) at the Farm, and with their 3rd show of the weekend, Kenosha Kid is bringing jazz to Kingpins.
