Neil Young's New Album

You can now download, or stream, Neil Young's new album "Living with War" either from his official site, which seems to be down right now, or from here. If you haven't heard yet, his album is already making the news, especially with some of those song titles. Check it out!

He's So Funny

I would just like to point out this great picture on CNN today. Bush at a gas pump! That is all.

The Internets

People will create websites for anything these days; however, this might be one of the more unique sites I've seen.

Love: The Best Thing Ever

Seems the GLFC and the Bible agree... as the voters throughout the competition of Everything Idol have crowned Love as the best thing ever.

Oh, and he also posted a link to that funny Wes Anderson-directed Amex ad.

Tonight In Athens

Bubba Sparxxx returns home (sorta?) to play the Georgia Theatre. Will there be booty? I mean, I hope so. More here.

On a more local tip, Casper & The Cookies and Sleepy Horses play at the Lunch Paper, Iron Hero plays at the 40 Watt, and Kenosha Kid performs at Flicker for the last time before hitting the road.

Happy Anniversary To Murmurs.com

Thanks to Chris for the heads up on the 10th Anniversary of Murmurs.com. I think they actually posted theirs on time. Stipe didn't say crap to us on our anniversary.

Pitchfork Interviews Gnarls Barkley

Pitchfork talks with ATL-ATH combo Gnarls Barkley (Cee-Lo + Danger Mouse) about their upcoming CD.

Happy Secretary's Day

To all the administrative professionals out there who slave for low wages and little respect, we feel ya'. Hope your bosses were all nice enough to do something for you. It should be like Halloween: no treat, then trick. So if you got shafted today, take your present in slack time. As we do every year, here's the only song we know of written for this occasion. Rock on, secretaries.

Tonight In Athens

A Katrina benefit's happening at the Georgia Bar tonight:

A benefit concert, with all proceeds going to the Tipitina's Foundation, will be held at the Georgia Bar on Wednesday, 4/26, with three solo acts.

Musicians CLAY LEVERETT (Lona, The Chasers), JESS FRANKLIN (Tishamingo) and JOSH STACK (formerly Cubanstack) have generously donated their time for this effort. Stack also happens to be one of the minds behind Panic Fans For Food, which organizes food drives at Widespread Panic concerts. ... Each musician will perform an acoustic set with the music beginning at 10pm.

The cost of admission is $5 and all the money will aid New Orleans musicians and music affected by Hurricane Katrina.

And if that's not up your alley, there's also Russian Spy Camera at the Caledonia. More here.

R.I.P. Phil Walden

Just found out that Phil Walden, Capricorn Records founder and manager for everyone from Otis Redding to the Allman Bros., died this past weekend. There's a lot of great acts who wouldn't be household names if not for that guy. Story here.

Free Ice Cream (To Fight Cancer)

Here's a notice that someone sent Vet Pharmacist:

"On Tuesday night, Ben and Jerry's will be having a free scoop night. If you would like to make donations when you get your free scoop, all the money will go to Relay for Life. If you aren't sure, Ben and Jerry's is downtown across the street from Starbucks. Even if you don't want to donate, this will be a good opportunity to get some free ice cream."

Tonight In Athens

In the first part of the night, the action's on the radio as Venice Is Sinking performs on WUOG's (90.5's) "Live In The Lobby", no doubt in promotion of their great new CD Sorry About The Flowers. The Live in the Lobby Volume 3 compilation is now available for free at local records stores as well. Fans of the louder stuff may wanna stay tuned afterwards as well for The Dumps' appearance on "Live Fast Rules".

If you're up for leaving the house, the new line-up of Todd McBride & The Cooler Heads performs at Tasty World for the first time in a while. Todd's without a doubt one of the best songwriters in town. Expect a mix of his solo material and a few Dashboard Saviors songs (and likely a Neil Young and/or Townes Van Zandt cover thrown in for good measure). Good stuff.

Jack White on Coke

Jack White has written a jingle for Coca-Cola's new ad campaign (see below). Already, the fans are complaining about his selling out. However, I think there's a logical explanation for this. He was asked to write a song about Coke. He just didn't realize they were talking about the drink.

Ba-da-bing.... I'll be here all day folks!

TDJ Originals - Year Two

Happy Birthday, LB!

Represent

Just wanted to wish a very happy birfday to one of three great taureans who contribute around here (Virgos still rule). Legal Bitch is now officially much older than me for several years. Besides that though, she's been a great contributor to this site ("The Real O.C." is still one of if not my absolute favorite thing this site has ever done - see above), and she's a great friend who always makes us laugh and doesn't take crap from anyone. You gotta love that. Happy Birthday, LB!

Monday Morning Sound-Off

Hey Everyone,

What'd you do this weekend? Me? Oh, I went to a wedding... the first of many in another wedding season. I will not tell whether or not I electric slid, so don't even ask. Y'all?

Drop us a line in the comments and let us know what's good that's going on in Athens and beyond. And if you have any funny/good wedding stories or especially any tips on writing toasts (I have to do 2 next weekend), please, please post 'em.

Rock On,

100 Unsexiest Men

The Older Mills vs. The Younger Mills

Since it's everywhere else, here's the recent one-time-hit Internets phenomenon: The 100 Unsexiest Men as rated by "The Phoenix" (I have no idea what this publication is but I'm sure the methods were scientific as hell).

Why do we mention it here? Poor old Mike Mills came in at number 7! That's just sexier than Chad Kroeger (Nickelback), but not quite as sexy as Osama Bin Laden. I mean the guy's not a model, but c'mon, he's not the elephant man. Maybe it was the perm?

Mike, I don't know what to say. Maybe go back to the brunette businessman scissor-cut look from the 80's? Good luck getting off next year's list.

(NSFW - language.)

Athens Music News

For those who don't read the comments, Pedro had this to say yesterday:

"You can hear the first two tracks from John Neff's upcoming solo album at his myspace page now."

Thanks for the heads up, Pedro. You know how we enjoy Neffin' it up. Any album title yet? Has he chosen one of our suggestions?

This Weekend In Athens

Go see some music, buy some albums, spring music season is finally happening...

FRI: Clay Leverett plays a solo show up at Nuci's with a few other folks. No doubt you'll hear Chasers songs, Lona songs, cover songs, and plenty of Clay-isms. Have a drink. That show starts at 9:30-ish. More here.

Before that though, the new 3-piece version of Summer Hymns plays at Flicker around 8:30. I was skeptical when I'd heard they'd downsized so much, but last time I heard them play they were great. And unexpected pleasant surprise. Who knew? More here.

Later in the night, Music Hates You will be rocking the walls of the Caledonia. Their new CD, Send More Paramedics is supposedly on its way to (or currently sitting in) my mailbox. I'll try and get a listen in before next time they play (in a day or two?). Anyway, they're loud and awesome.

Finally, two local DJ superpowers meet at one party as Dan Gellar and Chris Bilheimer are spinning at the Go Bar as well.

SAT: Phosphorescent plays in town for the first time this year, I think, at the Caledonia. It's definitely been a while and honestly, I couldn't tell you what Matthew's been doing in that time - probably touring. Hopefully, working up something great. Anyway should be a good comeback show and Dark Meat opens so that's another reason to go.

Also, Pushbutton performs at Tasty World in support of their new album, Close To Final. It's chock full of poppy goodness. The kinda stuff that gets stuck in your head.

Athens Audio

Ask and you shall receive. Another BitTorrent and info about the new CD from Lars:

"In anticipation of the WUOG Live in the Lobby 2006 CD release party at Little Kings, I'm offering up these two Hope For Agoldensummer shows recorded for LITL in 2003 and 2005. Since "Threads" is officially on the compilation, it's been removed from the torrent, so you'll have get a FREE copy of the CD at the party or wherever there's a box set up in town (I think there will be one at all the record stores downtown)."

Thanks Lars! And as usual, if you're in the dark about how to BitTorrent, check out Sloan's guide.

Tonight In Athens

Lots going on for a Thursday. Firstly, earlier in the evening (8-ish?), Bob Hay & The Jolly Beggars will play at Farm 255 to celebrate the release of their new album. Much more on that here.

Also, Col. Knowledge & The Lickity Splits perform at Little Kings for the first time in a while in celebration of the release of WUOG's third volume of "Live in the Lobby". These are great collections of one-time performances by a lot of our favorite local bands. The CD's are free, which is awesome, but once they're gone, they're gone, so get 'em while they're hot. If you're not at this show, get one from your favorite local record store or anywhere else someone from WUOG might tell us to get 'em in the comments.

'Sides all that, there's also Bloodkin at the 40 Watt, Cinemechanica at the Caledonia, and bluegrassers the Blackmon Brothers at the Melting Point.

It's A Hard Knock Life

Vet Pharmacist's cat (Casey - AKA The Grumpiest Cat Ever) has a tube in her side for the time being. Just thought I'd share.

Athens Music News

AMdN has finally updated their news section, and hopefully the ball will keep rolling. Lots of new stories including a bit about the fate of the now-abandoned area next to the Watt where Lo Yo Yo used to be.

Also, the schedule for the 2006 Athens Human Rights Festival is up now. It includes our friends in Music Hates You and Bob Hay & The Jolly Beggars. Some of us'll be there for sure.

Tonight In Athens

Sleepy Horses play the Caledonia tonight. They're working on the "Music Hates You Award" for band who plays the most while supposedly working on a new album. Do they have jobs?

Commemorating New York's Worst Tragedy

I usually don't like to steal from other Athens blogs, but this pic on Melting Dolls is friggin' hilarious. There's a T-shirt too.

Athens Audio

Thanks to Lars (from WUOG) who's put up a Nikki Sudden acoustic radio set from Athens a few years back on BitTorrent. He actually did it a few days ago, but I forgot about it. Hope it's still running. Get it while it's Hot. Keep 'em coming, Lars!

(For the know-how on using BitTorrent, use our handy guide - prepared by Sloan Simpson!)

Tonight In Athens

Our friend Big Gray is rocking things out at the Caledonia. To be honest, I've never heard him play shows apart from the other bands, so I have no idea what to expect, but I'm sure it'll be great. F'pole references Apples In Stereo, which is always a good thing. Speaking of, word is the finishing touches are being put on their new album.

Also, Heros Severum (pictured above) is on WUOG's (90.5's) "Live in the Lobby" around 8PM.

Hasselhoff 2006 Calendar

Midway through the year and already disappointed with your freebie office calendar that's become as boring as everything else in your office? Look no further than the 2006 Hasselhoff Calendar. I think July is my favorite. Very patriotic.

Attention College Students

A new website launched last week that intends to be the purely college student, campus-based equivalent of Craigslist. The site is CollegeMedium.com and allows the sale/purchase of textbooks from local folks as well as finding roommates and all the other Craigslist-y type stuff. And it's free.

Just thought I'd mention it for the college folks out there trying to save a buck on the horrible selling scheme that is the textbook market (CheapestTextbooks.com helps too, but probably isn't as good as buying directly from another student).

TDJ Turns 2, Loses Memory

Well, if we weren't at least a week late, it wouldn't be TDJ. A week ago today The Day Jobs forgot to celebrate its second birthday and all you bastards forgot too. Out of the 300+ people who visited last Monday, not a one remembered. But since we forgot too, I guess we can't hold it against anyone in particular.

Anyway, we're 2 now, which in blogging years is like 40 (not like Grandpa Gardner or anything, but old). And there's not a single work day in the last year that we haven't posted something, which isn't too shabby. We'll be sure to work up a "TDJ Originals, Year 2" post in the next few weeks when there's time (yes, all the "Real O.C." posts right at your fingertips), but for now feel free to check out the archives to rehash all the old good times.

And even though no one marked their calendars for the event, just wanted to say thanks to everyone for reading over the last year or more and choosing to waste your time with us. Never woulda dreamed 2 years ago that we'd get this many readers. Ever. As always, send complaints, suggestions, and cool links here.

Here's to a great Year 3...

Tonight In Athens

The 40 Watt hosts a Nikki Sudden Memorial show featuring Sleepy Horses, Adam Musick & Friends, and many others to be sure. The event was quickly arranged, so I'm not sure all the details (doors at 9, show at 10, mostly/all Nikki Sudden covers, only costs $3 as far as I know), but it's sure to be a great night in memory of a great person.

Also, The Ginger Envelope at Tasty World wouldn't be a bad night of music either.

Monday Morning Sound-Off

What'd y'all do this weekend? See/hear/taste/touch anything great? Let us know. Drop a line in the comments to let everyone know what they missed so they won't in the future.

Cam'ron Is On Fire

This article is supposed to be panning the Cam'ron film Killa Season, but all the scene by scene descriptions (look for the bullet points) make me wanna see it really badly.

(Thanks to Hillary for the link.)

Also This Weekend...

Hey vinyl people, Kurt Wood's selling off some of his amazing record collection...

This Weekend In Athens

A great weekend of new music...

FRI: Venice Is Sinking finally releases their debut full-length CD Sorry About The Flowers at the 40 Watt. They're playing 2 sets - one of originals and one of covers. And, in one of my favorite band practices ever (a good way to get your music out there, bands): anyone who pays to get in, gets a CD. That's a good deal and it's well worth it. The Ginger Envelope opens and after the show, DJ Big Gray will spin some dance tunes to finish off the night on a high note. More here and here.

Across town, there's also a really great show happening at Nuci's Space. Our friends in Kimberly Morgan & The Everlovin' Band play as part of a benefit tonight. It's a rare appearance for them and well, well worth it. Hell, you might even be able to catch this show and another (don't know the order, but this show kicks off at 9:30). More here and here. And just for kicks, here's our interview with Kimberly from way back.

Also of interest tonight is Contraband and Rump Posse at the Caledonia. Been a while for the latter and the former's always great to watch no matter how many times they win that game. Mathematically precise at that.

SAT: Elf Power starts a lengthy tour at the 40 Watt with the release of their new CD, Back To The Web. It's wild gypsy music and I can't wait to hear the album (apparently, they're going to play it from start to finish to start the show off too). Still Small Voice & The Joyful Noise opens (Chip's a childhood friend of Andrew... plus, they're good). More here and here.

Also of interest is Producto at the Caledonia, Trunkfire at Foxz, and the pop-lovers combo of Zumm Zumm, Bunnygrunt, Russian Spy Camera, and Cars Can Be Blue at Little Kings.

Vet Pharmacist's Nephew

SUN: Happy Easter!

Tonight On Your TV

Don't forget: DBT on Turner South's "Music Road" tonight at 10PM.

Nutria News

Even more album news this week... Nutria is the newest Athens-based act to join Fundamental Recordings. Tentative plans are to release their new album (which is recorded and is now being mixed/mastered) along with their very impressive debut, Metronome, which never got a proper release. Can't wait for that. More here.

Also, since two of the members are now babydaddies, congrats are in order.

Vote Now Or Forever Hold It

Unless Gardner changes the deadline, today is the last day to vote in the final round of Everything Idol. Again, the choice is between Art and Love. If you don't make this call, someone else will. If you're on the fence, remember the scroll down for arguments on each side.

Find Cheap(er) Gas

Not the first of its kind, but MSN has a nice map program to find gas prices (updated nightly) in your area. Here's the prices for Athens.

Tonight In Athens

The "Venice Is Sinking Trio" performs a set at Little Kings ahead of the full band's album release party tomorrow night. Tonight's show will be followed by both a listening party for the new CD Sorry About The Flowers (which is a really great record and you should all go buy it) and a dance party by DJ Mahogany and the best part is that it's free! More here.

ATF vs. Ninjitsu

Normally I don't go to the Red & Black for either news or entertainment, but the front-page story about the ATF agents taking down a ninja on campus is too good to ignore.

Top 50 Jobs

For the third year in a row since I've been monitoring, mail clerking did not make Money Magazine's Top 50 Jobs.

Elf Power Details

A few details emerging finally about the new Elf Power record Back To The Web. For hardcore fans (extreme nerds) this is probably all old news, but it's new to me cause I just hunted it down. Above is the cover and below is the tracklist:

1 Come Lie Down With Me (And Sing My Song)
2 An Old Familiar Scene
3 Rolling Black Water
4 King Of Earth
5 Peel Back The Moon, Beware!
6 23rd Dream
7 Somewhere Down The River
8 The Spider And The Fly
9 Forming
10 All The World Is Waiting
11 Under The Northern Sky
12 Back To The Web

You can read a review (however brief) here and new tracks are still up on the band's MySpace page. Even though I hate Dungeons & Dragons, I'm totally psyched about this record. Anyone out in E6 land got anything cool details to add? Comment away.

All Night Long

Lifehacker posted tips on an issue that's very close to my life right now: How to pull an all-nighter (if you're interested, there's also tips posted by LH readers in the comments below the post).

Jolly Beggars 2: Still Beggin'!

A little announcement about a product I wasn't even aware of from our friend Bob Hay...

"Bob Hay & the Jolly Beggars are pleased to present our new CD "Tam Lin and More Songs by Robert Burns". It features 18 tracks covering a wide range of the Bard's work: drinking songs, love songs, laments, humourous love songs, a political rabble-rouser, and the 9-minute title track. The CD is available in Athens at Wuxtry and Schoolkids Records. It is available for download or purchase at CD Baby. For more information, visit our Web site.

Upcoming Dates:
Thursday, April 20 - Farm 255 from 8:30-10:30. Free.
Saturday, April 29 - Burns Club of Atlanta Spring Ceilidh
Sunday, May 7 - Human Rights Festival in downtown Athens at 2 PM. Free.
Friday, May 12 - Gwinnett History Museum, Lawrenceville, GA. 8:00 p.m. $5.
Thursday, May 25 - The Georgia Theatre. The Jolly Beggars will kick off a night of revelry featuring Effie's Club Follies, The Dictatortots, and more. Details TBA."

Thanks for the update, Bob! I think I like my title better, but whatever...

Tonight In Athens

The loud sounds of Mother Jackson (who have recently completed their second album with producer David Barbe at the helm) go out over the WUOG (90.5) airwaves tonight as they play "Live in the Lobby" somewhere around 8:00 PM. Here's a drinking game for it: everytime you understand a complete line of the lyrics, take a shot ... gonna be some mighty sober people. That being said, it does rock.

Everything Idol - The Final!

Finally, finally, finally the Gardner Linn Fan Club has posted the last installment of Everything Idol - a competition which has spanned 2 years worth of nominations, selections, chatter, eliminations, voting, and choices which has all led to this point. It has come to a contest between Love and Art to determine which is the best thing ever (personally I was rooting for air conditioning, but apparently it wasn't meant to be).

The polls close on Thursday night, with a winner I'm assuming to be announced on Friday. You can vote anytime before that here. Of course, you may want to hold off a day or two because if you scroll up from that link, you'll see Gardner's arguments for either side (the first of which is already posted) as we near the end of the contest. Vote this week or forever hold your peace.

Stream A Blessing And A Curse

As Jayne pointed out in the comments on Friday, you can now stream the upcoming Drive-By Truckers album A Blessing and A Curse in its entirety. They had a really cool player that you could embed, but I wasn't sure if it jived with Blogger or with all browsers plus it was an automatic-player which as I've said before, I'm very opposed to. That being said, you can skip downloading the file and see/hear the embedded player in action over at Alabama Ass-Whuppin'.

And since you can hear it all at this point, that's likely the last post about the album release I'll be doing. If you're interested, y'all know when and where to get it. And if you don't, any of the sites above and/or our friends over at NineBullets.org will keep you plenty up to date. Rock on.

Tonight In Athens

Music Hates You rocks the upstairs at Tasty World. Luckily, those walls can't talk. I don't know, I've run out of things to say. It's loud. There's a new album on the way. Go rock.

Monday Morning Sound-Off

How was y'all's weekend? Anything great going on? How much did you drink? Eat? Laze around? Let us know what's great in the commments.

Presidential Appearances

I'm having to write this quick, cause I'm on my way out, but the elder Bush (George H Bush) will be speaking at 2PM at the Coverdell Center on UGA Campus. John Edwards will also be speaking at the Chapel today as well (maybe right now?). Sorry I don't have details, but I'm sure you can search 'em on the UGA website.

Another New DBT Track

"If you were s'posed to watch your mouth all the time, I doubt your eyes would be above it."

If you haven't gotten it or heard about it yet, AMdC's got the link to another new Drive-By Truckers track, "Gravity's Gone", from their upcoming album A Blessing and A Curse. This is one by Mike Cooley (if you've heard the other two tracks by Jason Isbell and Patterson Hood, this is the other guy). No offense to the rest of the band (or those who might disagree), cause they hold their own, but he's always been my favorite songwriter in the group. Why no solo album, Cooley? I know he's got the songs for it. Anyway, enjoy.

The Trubel With Speling

Some people with WAY too much time on their hands are actually picketing the national spelling bee. Again, way too much spare time here.

(This link brought to you by Athens' own 2006 Drunken Spelling Bee Champion.)

This Weekend In Athens

Gettin' all international up in here...

FRI: The great combo of Dark Meat and the scarcely appearing anymore rock of Lona will be at the 40 Watt. That's a whole lotta good rock n' roll. And a whole lotta folks on stage (if all of Lona will indeed be there).

There's also former Athenian Kevn Kinney over at Melting Point. Good to see he's still coming around here.

SAT: Pushbutton, the new project from former Annaray frontman Chris Uhde, releases their debut CD Close To Final at the Caledonia. Not too far from the "somewhere in between the Pixies and Pavement" sound he had going before, but just a little poppier. I Am The World Trade Center and Fabulous Bird also play.

And from 12 to 5 in the afternoon, the International Street Festival takes place in College Square downtown. Granted, it has a weird sorta "tourist in my own town" feel to it (or "awkward high school cultural presentation" at times), but it's the unofficial start to Fest season in Athens. And those who have been around TDJ long enough know how I love anything during which a street is closed off. Breakdancing at 2:55 suckas.

Note to bands: Non-MySpacers don't have access to all the pics you upload. Just the tiny one. Upload some elsewhere (like the F'pole Music Directory) so we can steal it from them. Also, if you put "FBI Agents Who Like To Role Play" in your "People I'd Like To Meet" category, that'll get you noticed

Athens Music

A bit outdated, but the torrent is presently kicking so go get you some. This is Phosphorescent at the Georgia Theatre from 10/27/05 when they opened for Elf Power. Thanks to Sloan Simpson, yet again.

Athens Stuff

The radio station Hot 100.7FM has established a new site called Athens Stuff, which is basically what it says. From community events to government info, there's a lot there. Definitely worth a look. And unlike us, they're probably both factual and accurate most of the time. If I can remember, I'll add it to our permanent links, cause it's gonna merit repeat visits. Thanks to Xavier for the heads up.

ATHenian + ATLien = Rocked UK

Gnarls Barkley, the Cee-Lo + Danger Mouse project, released a single. That single made UK chart history this week by being the first to do this by download alone (it's not actually in record stores yet). Pretty impressive.

The Simpsons Movie Trailer

Am I the only one who's heard nothing about this?

Tonight In Athens

Bo Bedingfield & The Wydelles play at the 40 Watt. I've yet to hear them, but since John Neff and Philip McArdle (both former Star Room Boys) will be sitting in with them tonight, I'm sure it's gotta be good. F'pole says, "strong, Southern gothic alt-country" if that's a clue as to whether or not it's up your alley.

Quick Steps To A Happier Day

If you're like me, your week is completely sucking so far. Luckily, Lifehacker offers a link to several suggestions for a happiness quick-fix.

Random Lame Factoid

Apparently, everyone already heard this, but...

"On Wednesday of this week, at two minutes and three seconds after 1:00 in the morning, the time and date will be 01:02:03 04/05/06. Obviously, this won't ever happen again."

AthFest 06

It looks like tidbits of information about this year's music schedule for AthFest (June 21-25) is starting to trickle in.

The official AthFest site has announced that Drivin' N' Cryin' will be this year's Sunday night headliner. Also, the lastest news from the Producto camp has them playing at the Morton Theater Flagpole Music Awards show on June 22 as well as being a part of the Caledonia line-up (site is currently down) on June 24. If you hear of anything else, let us know! We may be day job slackers here, but when it comes to music, we like to plan ahead!

More Live Music

Sloan Simpson sent one last Centro-Matic bittorrent link to us, for now. This is from the Atlanta show which I've heard wasn't quite as good as the one we got here, but that it was still very good. So here it is for those of you who are down with downloading.

R.E.M. Video

For those who missed the R.E.M. appearance this weekend, some video from it's popped up on YouTube. Also, while mentioning all these guest appearances, I forgot to mention that Scott from the Minus 5 showed up to play a couple of songs with Nutria at their set earlier in the night, which was very cool in itself.

(Thanks to Matt for the link.)

Tonight In Athens

Local rockers Casper & The Cookies play the Caledonia along with local math-rockers We Versus The Shark. That's a combo I would have never pictured, but should make for a great night of music. And if any of y'all run into the WVTS, can you tell 'em to hurry up on the whole album #2 thing.

In addition, for those starved for live hip-hop, Atlanta's Psyche Origami plays the 40 Watt as well.

Monday Morning Sound-Off

How was y'all's weekend? Anyone do anything great? I know a few of you did, cause I was there too. We wanna know about it, so comment away!

And if anyone didn't hear, there were two special appearances this weekend that rocked Athens: a performance of "Country Feedback" by R.E.M. during the Minus 5 show which featured Bill Berry on bass (photos here, story here) AND for those who doubted, the man himself Michael McDonald did perform a brief 3 song set at the Nutria & Friends show, as evidenced by the shoddy camera phone pic below (you can clearly tell it's him, though):

TDJ readers of course, were forewarned about both appearances (thanks also to Meredith!).
